Scale and Corrosion Inhibitors for Geothermal Applications

Scaling and corrosion issues typically affect the efficiency of geothermal plants and reduce power recovery. Among all the different methodologies developed to mitigate the problem, chemical inhibition seems to be one of the most cost-effective solutions. With the increasing of investment dedicated to geothermal, also the interest towards chemical inhibitors is growing, leading to the development of new more effective, more stable and “greener” solutions. The aim of this session is to highlight the most recent improvements achieved in this field, favoring cross-fertilization and the spreading of new ideas.
