This presentation will explore the long-term success of The Geysers, the largest geothermal energy installation located in North America. The Geysers is one of Calpine Corporation’s geothermal fleets that has produced clean, reliable, and renewable geothermal power for decades, with the capacity to produce 725 megawatts of electricity around the clock. The team will share highlights on the history of the Geysers, how the fleet operates, the Toshiba and Calpine partnership, and how the fleet implemented best practices on equipment and on-going maintenance and service. We will also discuss lessons learned over the years, as well as the community involvement that the project has enjoyed.
