Session 3E: Innovation and Future of Geothermal Power Plants/ Machine Learning in Geothermal Development

Innovation and Future of Geothermal Power Plants

There are multiple areas of geothermal that can be exploited to help meet net-zero carbon goals including direct use, geoexchange and power generation. Geothermal resources and energy storage have the potential to economically provide green and dispatchable power. Geothermal has an aging fleet of power plants that needs innovative solutions to continue operation. How can we sustain our current production?  What kinds of innovation can we incorporate into future power generation to ensure long-lasting, efficient and reliable generation?  This session covers various aspects of geothermal plants including design, improvements, optimization, and economic.

Machine Learning in Geothermal Development

Machine learning is becoming more advanced and useful for various industries. This session highlights recent improvements and applications of ML for the geothermal industry.
